Bangladesh Documentary Film Festival 2014

‘Where is Billet?’ has been selected for Bangladesh Documentary Film Festival 2014. This five day long Festival titled ‘Documenting Bangladesh 5’ is being organised by Bangladesh Documentary Council. The festival will run from 28th March to 1st April at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium, Shahbagh, Dhaka. ‘Where is Billet?’ will be screened at 29th April, 2014 at 7pm.

Bangladesh Documentary Council (BDC) is a national organization of documentary filmmakers in Bangladesh. It was formed in 2004 and since then working towards to popularise documentary films in Bangladesh.





‘Where is Billet?’ has been selected for the 13th RAI Film Festival, 2013

‘Where is Billet?’ has been selected for the 13th RAI International Festival of Ethnographic Film, UK. This year the festival will take place in Edinburgh from the 13th to 16th June 2013. The film has been shortlisted for the Wiley Blackwell Student Film Prize screening strand. The screening is currently scheduled for Friday 14th June, at 14 pm.

Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI) has been organizing this biennial film festival since 1985. The festival will be hosted by the National Museums of Scotland and the STAR consortium. Scottish Training in Anthropological Research (STAR) is a collaboration between the Universities of Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and St. Andrews. Over 60 new films will be screened alongside a conference ‘New Observations’ and a selection of special events and workshop about art & anthropology and the use of archival film.–224Image

‘Where is Bilet?’ will be screened at 12th ISIFF, DHAKA 2012

‘Where is Billet?’ has been selected for the 12th International Short & Independent Film Festival, Dhaka 2012. The festival will run from the 13th till the 19th of December in the capital city of Bangladesh. The film has been selected for the main section and will be screened on 18th December 11am at Central Public Library Auditorium.

The biannual festival was first created in 1988 by the Short Film Forum to promote independent cinema in Bangladesh and to create an international platform for filmmakers to facilitate meaningful and artistic cinematic expression. It has been running for 24 years and is one of the oldest short and independent film festivals in South Asia. The festival has great impact in creating filmmakers in Bangladesh. This year the  slogan for the Festival is “Free Cinema, Free Expression.”

Shortlisted for One World Media Award 2012

‘Where is Billet?’ has been shortlisted for One World Media Award 2012 (Student Film Catagory). One World Media promotes media that contributes to global dialogue and understanding, human rights and development. The awards will take place on Tuesday 8th May 2012 at Kings Place in London and tickets will go on sale in mid-March. The event will be presented by Jon Snow of Channel 4 News.
